An easy crochet beanie/hat pattern is so incredibly versatile. It can be decorated in so many ways, and even given a completely different look depending upon the kind of yarn used (solid, striped, variegated). As I mention in the video tutorial, please give me a bit of time, and I'll update this post with patterns for other sizes. Items Needed: worsted weight yarn (4 weight) 5mm crochet hook yarn needle scissors Abbreviations: hdc: half double crochet inc: increase (work 2 stitches into the same stitch) sc: single crochet slst: slip stitch ch: chain (We will be working in continuous rounds.) Pattern: Round 1: Work 8 hdc into a magic circle (8) Round 2: 2 hdc in each stitch around (16) Round 3: hdc, inc. Repeat all the way around. (24) Round 4: 2 hdc, inc. Repeat all the way around. (32) Round 5: 3 hdc, inc. Repeat all the way around. (40) Round 6: 4 hdc, inc. Repeat all the way around. (48) Round 7: 5 hdc, inc. Repeat all the way around. (56) Round 8: 6 hdc, inc. Repeat all the way around. (64) Round 9: 7 hdc. inc. Repeat all the way around. (72) Rounds 10-19: hdc in each stitch around. (72) To finish off, sc in the next stitch, slst in the next. Ch 1, and pull yarn all the way through. Work away your ends.
