There are so many chocolate chip cookie recipes out there, but let’s face it. There are only so many variations you can make upon a classic. I have found that by adding a little ground oatmeal in with the flour, and using two types of chocolate, you can add extra depth to not only the flavor, but also the consistency of America’s favorite cookie. This is what I consider to be the best chocolate chip cookie recipe.
What You Need:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup light brown sugar, packed 1 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs, room temperature 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract 2 1/2 cups uncooked oatmeal (do not use instant) 2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 12 ounces milk chocolate chips 4 ounces of dark chocolate, grated or finely chopped
How To Make It:
1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2: Cream the butter and sugars together until fluffy. 3: Stir in vanilla and almond extract. 4: Grind oatmeal in a food processor until it’s the consistency of flour. 5: Mix all dry ingredients (except the chocolate) together in a medium bowl, then slowly add it to the wet ingredients. Stir it until it is just combined. Don’t overdo it. 6: Gently stir in chocolate. 7: Drop by heaping teaspoons onto a baking sheet, and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
