I love making practical items to use around my home, and these dish scrubbies are one of my favorites. They are made from nylon tulle, and withstand even the heaviest of scrubbing. To sanitize them, simply boil a pot of water, remove from the heat, and drop your scrubbies in for a few minutes. Now.... on to the pattern! Try to keep your stitches a bit loose so your scrubbies will be fluffy.
What You Need:
A spool of 6" tulle. You can get 2 scrubbies from WalMart tulle rolls
9mm crochet hook
sl st: slip stitch
dc: double crochet
sc: single crochet
Round 1: Ch 4, then sl st into the first ch to form a circle.
Round 2: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), then make 14 dc into the circle, and sl st to the top of the ch 2. Ch 1.
Round 3: 2 sc into the same stitch, and in each stitch around. Sl st to the first sc, and finish off.
Repeat rounds 1 & 2.
Round 3: 2sc in the same stitch and in each stitch around, but do not sl st to the first sc. Place both circles together, wrong sides facing each other. Insert your hook into the first sc, and into any of the sc stitches from the first circle made and make a sl st. Sl st both circles together, all the way around, and finish off. Weave in your ends, and go do some dishes!
